What this page cannot tell you

Gross pay before tax. Unpaid time off lowers the yearly figure; enter fewer paid weeks for that. Overtime, bonuses and shift premiums are not included.

Method: hourly × hours per week × paid weeks per year = yearly; ÷ 12 = monthly; ÷ 24 = twice-monthly. For reference, the U.S. federal government divides annual pay by 2,087 hours (OPM fact sheet), which gives $24.92 an hour for this salary. Retrieved 2026-10-24.

How the conversion works

Yearly pay = hourly rate × hours per week × paid weeks per year. With 40 hours and 52 weeks that is 2,080 hours. Monthly = yearly ÷ 12; twice a month = yearly ÷ 24; every two weeks = weekly × 2.

For reference, the U.S. federal government computes hourly rates by dividing annual basic pay by 2,087 hours, the average number of work hours in a year (OPM fact sheet). The page shows that figure too.
